Eurasian women's community
web portal is aimed at:
- bringing women’s organisations to the shared communication platform, including business communities, non-governmental & non-commercial organisations, and women-oriented organisations;
- promoting society, business and creative activities and encouraging their appreciation and support by community members;
- attracting mass media and social interest in the activities of women’s organisations
- encouraging mass media to develop a positive image of women thus contributing to a positive outlook on our country from the foreign world.
The site contains:
- a roster of women’s organisations participating;
- an information agency;
- a universal interactive event schedule;
- a feedback page of questions and answers ;
- educational events;
- polls and surveys.
The range of Russian souvenirs is relatively narrow. It includes the following kinds of goods: ear-flapped hat, balalaika, caviar, vodka, Russian nesting doll called matryoshka, and valenki. Foreigners always buy these goods and after returning home rarely look at them just to recall stereotypes about Russia.
Valentina Matvienko had a meeting with women entrepreneurs focusing their products on export. This event was held within the framework of the preparation for the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum. Nadiya Cherkasova, Chairperson of Committee for Development of Women’s Entrepreneurship of OPORA RUSSIA, presented her report at the meeting.
On December 6, there was a meeting of Valentina Matvienko, Chairperson of the Federation Council, with women entrepreneurs implementing export-oriented projects. It took place as part of the preparation for the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum. After the meeting, journalists of the Eurasian Women’s Community interviewed Natalia Strigunova, Deputy Director of Asia and Africa Department in the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. Natalia said that much attention was paid to promotion of women entrepreneurs’ interests and support of women’s entrepreneurship at different international platforms.

Valentina Matvienko, Chairperson of the Federation Council, had a meeting with women entrepreneurs as part of the preparation for the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum. Thanks to women entrepreneurs, the rate of non-resource exports in Russia was better than that of commodity export. This is a breakthrough. Peter Fradkov, CEO of the Russian Export Centre, was the one who revealed this information. He also reported that the Russian Export Centre would become a partner of the Eurasian Women’s Forum 2018 in Saint Petersburg.

Businesswomen from all over Russia, who manage to offer their goods both in Russia and internationally alongside with creating positive image, participated in the event.
At the Forum of Women Parliamentarians held as part of the 137th IPU Assembly, the EWC journalists interviewed Intisar Alwazir, Member of the Palestinian National Council. She told them about the status of women in her country.
On 30 November – 1 December, Tashkent held the second meeting of a Commission for Cooperation of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation and the Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan. The Deputy Chairperson of the Senate Sadyk Safayev and the Deputy Chairperson of the Federation Council Ilyas Umakhanov hosted the event. It was the first meeting of such kind for the last 11 years.
A healthy person has not only sound body but also sound mind. This is the very postulate that laid the foundation for humanitarian project Health as Creativity. It was realised at the initiative of Women’s Union of the Novosibirsk Region. Nadezhda Boltenko, senator of the Federation Council, shared some details about the project.
On 30 November, Valentina Matvienko during her working trip to Tver, Russia met women leaders, small and medium business representatives, and NGOs residents. The speaker highlighted, that such events help with better understanding of necessities of the provinces’ citizens and the authorities’ activity on raising of living standards.
