13 Thousand Women Took Part in Woman Digital Academy Programmes
Doron Avni presented Google projects in the field of women’s entrepreneurial development
Today, the Federation Council hosted a working meeting of Galina Karelova, Deputy Chairperson of the Federation Council, with representatives of Google company and members of the OROPA RUSSIA Committee for Development of Women's Entrepreneurship.
During the meeting, Doron Avni, Google’s regional head for policy and government relations in Africa, Near and Middle East, Russia, and CIS, presented the projects implemented by Google company in the field of women’s entrepreneurial development.
Google company stressed the success of an educational project titled ‘Woman Digital Academy’, which is being realised jointly with the OROPA RUSSIA Committee for Development of Women's Entrepreneurship.
The project is an online academy allowing its participants to listen a series of webinars on development of business at its different phases. Successful Russian entrepreneurs and Google specialists take part in the webinars. The most popular topics included first steps in starting a business, promotion of a business on social networks, search for audience, and marketing planning.
Nadiya Cherkasova, Chairperson of the OPORA RUSSIA Committee for Development of Women's Entrepreneurship, shared about the current results of the project that demonstrate high demand for such initiatives among women.
Upwards of 13 thousand businesswomen have taken part in the online academy programmes since the launch of Woman Digital Academy.
According to Deputy Chairperson of the Federation Council Galina Karelova, access to education alongside with funding is one of the main factors that have an impact women’s decision-making in terms of implementing their own projects. That is why it is necessary to create new programme and conditions for education and self-fulfilment of women in entrepreneurship where digital knowledge and skills often play the key role.
