Eurasian women's community
web portal is aimed at:
- bringing women’s organisations to the shared communication platform, including business communities, non-governmental & non-commercial organisations, and women-oriented organisations;
- promoting society, business and creative activities and encouraging their appreciation and support by community members;
- attracting mass media and social interest in the activities of women’s organisations
- encouraging mass media to develop a positive image of women thus contributing to a positive outlook on our country from the foreign world.
The site contains:
- a roster of women’s organisations participating;
- an information agency;
- a universal interactive event schedule;
- a feedback page of questions and answers ;
- educational events;
- polls and surveys.
Journalists of the Eurasian Women’s Community interviewed the scientists and experts from different countries within the framework of the international conference Intellectual Property in the new Technological Order. Many of them mentioned that there are more and more women in this sphere nowadays. Lilyclaire Bellamy, Executive Director of Jamaica Intellectual Property Office.
During our visit to MSU, Department of Labour and Personnel Economics, we discussed a relevant topic, gender-based discrimination in accessing jobs, with researchers. Anna Alyoshina, one of the best young teachers of the faculty, shared the results of her research with the EWC journalists.
Valentina Matvienko, Chairperson of the Federation Council, proposed that 2019 be designated the Year of Rural Areas in Russia. Nadezhda Boltenko, Chairperson of Women’s Union of the Novosibirsk Region, supported her initiative.
The first phase of the Open Innovations startup tour in Perm came to its end. The results have already been summed up. Ksenia Shvetsova was the entrepreneur who won in the nomination Best Women’s Technology Project. The project she had presented was the largest internet forum in the Perm region called kupivsp.ru.
Journalists of the Eurasian Women’s Community news agency interviewed Andrea Valentina Martinez within the framework of the 137th IPU Assembly. She shared about the status of women in her country.
Within the framework of the international conference Intellectual Property in the New Technological Order at Skolkovo, the EWC journalists interviewed John Flood, Professor of Law and Society at Griffith University in Australia. They discussed whether it would be possible to regard artificial intelligence (AI) as an inventor, though whether machines would simplify entering into contracts in the field of intellectual property, and found out what women should do to be listened to and heard.
Galina Karelova, Deputy Chairperson of the Federation Council, gave a speech at the awarding ceremony of ‘Business Success’ national prize. She said: “With each passing year, we get to know more and more names of people who actually develop their region’s economy, create working places, and vibrantly support socio-economic development of the regions they live in”.
Journalists of the Eurasian Women’s Community interviewed Igor Drozdov, President of the Skolkovo Fund, within the framework of international conference Intellectual Property in the New Technological Order. He told about importance of intellectual property in the modern world, said where it was easier to introduce the blockchain technology, and what global projects do women run in Skolkovo.
People working at MSU Faculty of Economics know much about how women contribute to social development. Marina Artamonova, Associate Professor of the Department of Employment and Labour Relations of the Faculty of Economics of MSU told us, which qualities modern women possess, what they could learn from youth, and what opportunities for self-actualisation they possess.
Journalists of the Eurasian Women’s Community had a chance to interview Jocette Bacchus, parliamentarian from Guyana, in the framework of the 137th IPU Assembly.
