Best Social Project Created by a Woman

The awarding ceremony of the All-Russian Contest

Galina Karelova, Deputy Chairperson of the Federation Council, participated in the awarding ceremony of the All-Russian contest of projects in the sphere of social entrepreneurship named ‘Best Social Project of the Year’. The ceremony took place within the framework of the forum in Sochi. The senator congratulated the winners and conveyed greetings from Valentina Matvienko, Chairperson of the Federation Council.

The All-Russian contest 2018 set a record of registered participants: 1000 projects from 85 regions were presented there. 301 projects moved to the federal stage due to regional expertise conclusions.

Galina Karelova awarded the winner of the Best Social Project Created by a Woman nomination established by the Federation Council.

“The number of applicants for our nomination grows every year. We learn more and more names of caring and enterprising women whose initiative and creativity are aimed at solving topical social tasks and creating conditions for improving the quality of life. The choice wasn’t easy: many participants had a claim on victory. However, I hope every project will get support and promotion in regions and every participant will have her followers inspired by her example”, said Galina Karelova in her congratulation speech.

According to her, the winning project has special social significance because it is aimed at helping the disabled people, especially children. Marina Chulkova, Deputy Director of the rehabilitation centre named Ogonyok, is the author of the project. She presented the device, thanks to which people with diseases of central nervous system and musculoskeletal system are able to not only perform active step motions but also walk by themselves. There are no analogues of such devices on the rehabilitation equipment market. In 2018, 160 persons attended rehabilitation courses using that device. Perhaps, technology developed in Moscow Oblast will become basic for teaching disabled children with ICP skills of walking by themselves since the first year of their lives.

“Summing up the results of the contest is conducted within the framework of the Russian Investment Forum. That is very important. I hope, in future the forum play a greater role in the presentation of not only regions’ investment abilities but also intellectual achievements. It will help find practical expression of useful creative ideas, our country so richly endowed with”, mentioned Galina Karelova.
