Women in science will be one of the main topics of the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum. This is caused by the increase in the number of women engaged in the field mentioned. Women scientists put every effort to make the lives of people around better, easier, and more comfortable. Journalists of the news agency of the Eurasian Women’s Community keep on sharing about women in science. 

Elmira Vagapova is a bright example of a successful young woman who dedicated her life to science. Today she works as a senior research assistant at the Laboratory of Cellular Basis of Malignant Diseases Development of the Institute of Molecular Biology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. 


She researches molecular mechanisms of the emergence and development of malignant neoplasms, for example leukemia. According to Elmira Vagapova, activities of scientists in this field allows developing medicine, which is more effective, and new therapy courses. That contributes greatly to survival rates of people suffering from malignant diseases. 

Oncological diseases require constant and careful consideration. Ms. Vagapova says there is no magic pill able to cure or prevent any disease yet.  However, doctors and scientists are certain that one can greatly reduce the risk of the emergence of malignant neoplasms. To do that, one should minimize the consumption of alcohol and fat food, avoid smoking, and limit being in the sun without protection against it. 


Your health rests in your hands. According to Elmira Vagapova, it is necessary to explain complicated phenomena related to human organism in plain language to allow people take care of their health as effectively as possible. The speaker highlights that women scientists are most willing to tell people around about their activities. They not only achieve goals they have but also share useful information with others. 

Ms. Vagapova finds science the most important part of her life. She has been interested in it since school when she understood she wanted to do something important and useful to the humanity. 

“I am not a doctor. My work may have no practical significance today. However, the results of my research will certainly be used in the future. It will be useful when developing new medicine and studying diseases”, she says. Scientists are people who put every effort to make the life of people better. Elmira Vagapova is proud of the fact that she managed to become a part of the global scientific community.
