Eurasian women's community
The Health Festival “Women of the world for a healthy lifestyle” will be held as part of the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum. The idea was put forward by the celebrated figure skater Irina Slutskaya, world and European champion and Olympic medalist, who is now a deputy of the Moscow Region Duma. She is convinced that, if united, women throughout the world will be able to improve public health and motivate other people to choose a healthy lifestyle.
Women more and more often take leading positions on the world political scene. They inspire other women not to be afraid of setting any goals and conquering all the heights. News agency of the Eurasian Women’s Community continues to introduce the women-leaders from different countries. Federica Mogherini, Italian diplomat, became the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy in 2014. It is interesting that she succeeded another woman Catherine Ashton, remarkable British political figure.
On April 19, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) launched a project ‘Personnel of Tomorrow for Russia’s Regions’ within the framework of the Moscow International Education Fair 2018. Anastasia Zyryanova, Director of the Department of the State Policy in general education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, shared about the first steps in the project’s implementation.
Deng Rong is known as a woman who makes progress in different fields of activity. She has medical education, political career, and the spirit of a writer-biographer. In addition, Deng Rong practices as a linguist because her position presupposes that she communicates and cooperates much with people from different countries. Today, Ms. Rong is the Deputy Chairperson of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. From early 1990s, she served as Deng Xiaoping’s confidential secretary. In fact, he was her father. In addition, he was the paramount leader of the People's Republic of China at that time. Deng Rong wrote a book about him.
Our planet is a large home for people with different worldviews, habits, traditions, and customs. The more the people know about one another and the more they are interested in their neighbouring countries, the less conflicts and misunderstanding occur between them. That is why it is so important to pay attention both to your motherland’s history and history of other countries.
Many powerful women, being strong holding their state positions and making life of their fellow citizens better, live all over the globe. Thus, Italy, Russia, Lesotho, etc. are the states having women as presidents of their parliaments. A small in size Kingdom of Swaziland, which is in South-East Africa, is yet another example here. Gelane Zwane is the President of Swaziland parliament. She is the first woman in the history of the country, who was appointed to such an important post.
Few women have a dream of becoming deputies. Irina Slutskaya, famous Russian figure skater, TV presenter, and mother of two children, has managed to do that. She could just provide coaching as many of her colleagues. Instead of that, she visits families with problems in housing, takes part in the organisation of sports facilities and playgrounds, calls for an increase in doctors' salaries and maternity benefits as well as for sound nutrition in schools, supports the programmes of prophylaxis of diabetes, and does Nordic walking with hundreds of people. In addition, she takes part in ice-skating shows because finds it good for the soul.
There was a roundtable Women in STEM: Role of Women in the Technological Future within the framework of the 19th April International Science Conference on Economic and Social Development. The participants discussed the topical problems in that sphere and suggested their solutions. Olga Savinskaya, Assistant Professor of the Social Department in Russian Higher School of Economics, presented the results of research connected with the role of women in STEM, their professional self-esteem, and choice of an orbit.
The world sees more and more examples of women holding political posts. Their activity bases on making people’s lives better. They motivate other women to move forward and get to any tops. In February 2018, the project Home Near Park, rest home for old people, was named the Best Social Project of the Year created by a woman within the framework of the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi. Natalia Peryazeva, the author, is invited to the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum. The initiative rapidly develops nowadays. Thus, there was a solemn opening of the new Russian-German project Home Near Park - Generationsbrücke Deutschland on April 11.
