INAUGURATION OF VLADIMIR PUTIN: PRESIDENT SUPPORTED BY WOMEN
Vladimir Putin's presidential inauguration ceremony was held on May 7. The event brought together people supporting the President’s policy and sincerely non-indifferent to Russia’s future. Women were the majority of all those present. In fact, women were extremely active voters during the 2018 Russian Federation presidential election. The EWC journalists talked with socially active women who attended the ceremony and found out why the event was so important for them.
“I am extremely proud of our country and our President. Russia is a strong country largely because we love our President and believe in him”, said Natalia Vlasenko, member of the People's Assembly of the Karachai-Cherkes Republic and Chairperson of the Committee for Agriculture. It is true to say that any President’s activities can be successful only if he or she is supported by country’s citizens.
People present at the ceremony showed how much they love their homeland. The event literally filled its participants and audience with energy. “This is a really great event inspiring and encouraging us to move towards new achievements”, said Natalia Bagdaeva, head of a social organisation supporting children with disabilities in Smolensk.
“Vladimir Putin is a strong and authoritative figure not only in Russia, but in the whole world. He is a person able to lead the country forward under any circumstances. As a woman and mother, as a Russia’s citizen, I am proud of the fact that we have such a great leader”, sad Olga Gukalenko, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, head of the ‘Creation’ Foundation. Vladimir Putin’s inauguration speech showed his consistency, innovative approach, and pragmatism in his policy. Olga Gukalenko wishes the President a good team that will be able to realize all his plans.
Many young people attended the inauguration ceremony. Ludmila Teplina, Director of the Centre for Patriotic Education of the Russia’s Union of Afghan War Veterans, commented on this positive trend: “I am proud and happy to live in such a powerful country and to see that we have taught the young to respect homeland and be non-indifferent to its future”. According to her, May 7 was a special day because the patriotic youth organisation of the Russia’s Union of Afghan War Veterans launched a large-scale action against vandalism. The date coincided with the President’s inauguration. Ms. Teplina finds it symbolic because both events are extremely important for Russia’s future.
Elena Skornyakova, member of the central headquarters of Russia’s Immortal Regiment movement, representative of the Ural-Siberian Learning House public organisation on the Chelyabinsk region, agrees that May 7 is a landmark date. During the election campaign, Ms. Skornyakova was a confidante of Vladimir Putin, that is why his victory is extremely important for her. The inauguration took place on the eve of Victory Day in Russia (May 9). These days, all Russians share a sense of pride in their country and the joy of Victory.
Viktoria Dvornichenko, chief doctor at the Irkutsk Regional Oncological Dispensary, was Vladimir Putin’s confidante too. She noted that it was an honor for her to gain the trust of the President. He is a person who has been leading the country for many years and keeps on doing it very effectively. Many citizens living in the Irkutsk region support the President’s policy. As an oncologist, Ms. Dvornichenko believes that assistance of the President will allow not only to achieve significant success in healthcare sector, but also to make a big step towards victory in fighting against cancer.
Olga Savchenko, Paralympic champion from the Republic of Bashkortostan, associates the inauguration ceremony with a new start leading to victory. Ms. Savchenko is a deputy of the State Assembly of Bashkortostan and Putin team movement member. The interlocutor shared that she saw great positive changes in the sporting sector and expressed her gratitude for that to President Putin.
