Deng Rong is known as a woman who makes progress in different fields of activity. She has medical education, political career, and the spirit of a writer-biographer. In addition, Deng Rong practices as a linguist because her position presupposes that she communicates and cooperates much with people from different countries. Today, Ms. Rong is the Deputy Chairperson of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. From early 1990s, she served as Deng Xiaoping’s confidential secretary. In fact, he was her father. In addition, he was the paramount leader of the People's Republic of China at that time. Deng Rong wrote a book about him.

In her book, the author depicted the personality of the Chinese politician, wrote about his achievements, personal and public lives. Deng Xiaoping was a great reform figure who worked out the Development Programme of China 2046. He modernized China’s economy, for example, improved export and attracted foreign investments. In addition, he struggled against corruption and allowed Chinese students to receive higher education abroad.

The book by Deng Rong depicted such periods of her father’s life, as re-education through labor, his son’s being crippled by the Red Guards and becoming a paraplegic, restoration of Deng Xiaoping’s position and careful development of the future image of China. The book also comprises the description of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution in China in 1966-1976 with all historical details.

In 2003, she visited Moscow and presented her book ‘Deng Xiaoping: My Father’. Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, received from her a copy of this book. As said by the President, Deng Xiaoping’s ideas are still being implemented in domestic and foreign policies of China. Vladimir Putin expressed his respect for Deng Rong’s work and assurance in effective strategic partnership between Russia and China.

Deng Rong met other Russian politicians as well. For example, in 2015, she discussed the role of women in addressing global problems with Valentina Matvienko, Chairperson of the Federation Council. By the way, the latter believes that only through joint efforts women can positively affect the global agenda. Deng Rong is invited to the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum, which takes place in Saint Petersburg on September 20-21.

Ms. Rong plans to write a new book about her father in which she will describe the history of China and Deng Xiaoping’s work in 1949-1966. “Every time I’m asked about the next book I feel indebted to my readers”, she said. The thing is that it took her three years to write the previous book. Writing a new one will probably require even more energy and time. Nevertheless, thanks to such books, descendants will know about such an outstanding Chinese politician and legendary reform figure.
