Maxim Oreshkin to Speak at EAWF
On the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation
Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin will speak at the strategic session ‘Women for Balanced Economic Growth’ of the Eurasian Women’s Forum.
According to Elvira Nabiullina, Governor of the Central Bank of Russia, Maxim Oreshkin is one of the sharpest macroeconomists in the country who likes a good challenge. Mr Oreshkin himself notes that one of his current goals is forming a ‘ministry of the future with strong personalities and potential for their development’ in our country.
Maxim Oreshkin pays much attention to the role of women in the modern economy. The Minister of Economic Development represented Russia at the Eleventh WTO Ministerial Conference in Buenos Aires, where the Declaration on Trade and Women’s Empowerment was signed. “The WTO countries agreed to cooperate in lifting barriers to the involvement of women in the economy,” commented Mr Oreshkin. The document outlines the WTO measures “to remove barriers to the economic empowerment of women and increase their participation in trade”. The actions listed in the Declaration are designed to provide more well-paid jobs for women and ultimately to stimulate the global economic growth.
At the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum, Maxim Oreshkin will speak about the contribution women can make to a balanced economic growth.
