NARANTUYA ZAGDKHUU ABOUT WOMEN OF MONGOLIA
The journalists of the Eurasian Women’s Community spoke with Narantuya Zagdkhuu, member of Parliament of Mongolia learnt about bills concerning women on the 137th IPU Assembly.
According to Narantuya, there is a powerful women caucus in the parliament. 18% of the staff are women. The parliamentarians are working out a bill preventing violence against women now.
Besides, a new law concerning young families was adopted recently. It will make life easier for people in rural areas. Now it is easier for young parents to provide their children with education, healthcare, and development.
Narantuya thinks that women have achieved many goals in social sphere and now it is time for them to open new horizons for themselves. There are already successful businesswomen in Mongolia but they need support, especially in terms of legislation.
