New PACE President
Liliane Maury Pasquier to participate in the EAWF
On 25 June Liliane Maury Pasquier was elected President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). Ms. Pasquier was invited to the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum to participate in the inter-parliamentary dialogue ‘Women for Sustainable Development of the Global World’.
Ms. Pasquier is an experienced politician. Since 1979, she is a member of the Swiss Socialist Party. During her political career she was the chairperson of the municipal council of Veyrier, the National Council (lower house of the parliament) of Switzerland. In 2012, Lilian joined the Swiss delegation to PACE. For several years she headed PACE’s Committee on Rules of Procedure, Immunities and Institutional Affairs.
Since January 2018, she heads the parliamentary Socialists, Democrats and Greens group.
In her work, Liliane Maury Pasquier pays significant attention to advancement of women. She is a caring wife and a mother of four.
