Opening of Patrium Summer School
Gifted children from all over Russia speak about happiness
On June 19, the opening of the annual Patrium Summer School took place in Moscow for the third time. 100 talented children from different regions of Russia who were the winners of the Global Talents web-portal became Patrium participants. This year, the topic of the event is dedicated to HAPPINESS. Marina Volynkina, head of the project, shared her vision of happiness at the opening of Patrium Summer School.

The Global Talents web-portal was established as a platform allowing children from all over Russia to communicate, exchange their knowledge, take part in contests, and fulfil their creative and intellectual potential. One of the key features of the project is that participation of children in all events held on the web-portal is completely free. At the same time, school students feel sincere love of the organisers to every child.
By taking part in contests, children choose their future profession, find friends, exchange useful information, and fill their hearts with love.
Three years ago, Global Talents launched a large-scale project called Patrium Summer School. During the year, children take part in the web-portal’s contests and intellectual marathons dedicated to kindness, family values, and culture of Russia. After that, the winners of contests have the opportunity to make a three-day visit to Moscow and immerse in the atmosphere of creativity, love, and positive.
Within Patrium Summer School, during three days, a series of exciting workshops, lectures, and cultural and entertainment events take place in Moscow.
Patrium is a large networking uniting hearts and minds of talented, kind, and creative children from all over Russia.
Patrium Summer School 2019 will fill the hearts of talented children with happiness. Already during the first day of the event, schoolchildren participating in it discussed how to make oneself, one’s family, and one’s country happier.
Marina Volynkina promised that participants would enjoy the rich programme of the third Patrium Summer School.
The school students will attend lectures on mental arithmetic and feel being the designers of future professions. They will also take part in art therapy workshop and exciting quests, visit the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, and enjoy a Moscow river cruise.
The traditional awarding ceremony of Patrium project participants will be held at the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on June 21, at 09:30.
Schoolchildren will not only receive awards for their achievements but also have a chance to talk with senators about what happiness is and how to make people happy.
Marina Volynkina emphasizes that holding of such a large-scale and important event was possible thanks to daily hard work of the project’s team. Patrium Summer School and Global Talents are actively developing and attracting the interest of an increasing number of children countrywide.
Children and their parents always comment on the project with sincere warmth and gratitude and this is the main award for the organisers. A presidential grant that Global Talents received for holding of Patrium Summer School is another serious proof of the project’s importance.
Happiness wasn’t randomly chosen as the topic of the third Patrium Summer School. Children are the future of our planet. It is important that adults understand children’s vision of happiness. Children, in their turn, should learn to not only enjoy life but also bring joy to people around.
“Happiness is inside of every one of us. We ourselves generate it by means of our kind attitude to people around, proper and honest deeds, and our thoughts”, believes Marina Volynkina, head of the project.
Ms. Volynkina believes that the more kind deeds we make, the more happy people surround us and, consequently, make our life brighter and happier.
Participants of Global Talents know that despite their young age. In their contest works, they often write about happiness of a person depending on his or her worldview and perception of life. Children even invented a metaphor and proposed to ‘erase people’s laziness, negative, and aggression with a rubber’ in order people around could smile at one another more often and be in a good mood.
The awarding ceremony of the winners of Patrium Summer School will take place at the Federation Council on June 21, at 9:30. We invite media to take part in coverage of this event. Today, it is necessary to speak more about how children understand the notion of happiness and what their vision of a happy future is.
