Voting for Not a Small Business Prize Candidates is Open


Let’s support women entrepreneurs

‘Not a Small Business’ is an open contest for representatives of small and medium-sized businesses in Russia aged up to 40. They are transforming our country and spreading entrepreneurial values in society. Upwards of 25 thousand people applied for participation in the main national prize for entrepreneurs. The most popular nominations of the prize are Rapid Growth, Real Product, and Kind Business. There were many women among the contestants this year.

In December 2018, Boris Titov, Presidential Commissioner for Entrepreneurs' Rights, introduced the idea of holding the first national prize for entrepreneurs of Russia and brought together the largest business companies and communities to be its organisers. Those included ‘Synergy’ School of Business, Like group of companies, Business Youth business community, Business Environment joint-stock company, Experum company, and Black Star group of companies. The Ministry for Economic Development of the Russian Federation supported the idea of establishing the Not a Small Business prize and became its co-organiser.

“One of our key tasks is to demonstrate the entrepreneur of a new format. This entrepreneur is successful, has the freedom of choice, and does the business he or she loves. It helps them become independent and brings their families a steady income”, stresses Maksim Oreshkin, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.


At the moment, the first phase of the prize related to submission of applications is over. Experts and organisers of the contest mention that the entrepreneurs were very active: thousands of participants from all regions of Russia told about their businesses. Women entrepreneurs also took active part to prove themselves.

Dozens of business projects, 20 of which are women’s ones, are on the vote today.

Among the projects are children’s educational centres, different useful services for people, factories of healthy nutrition, initiatives related to information technologies, etc.

Many of women’s business initiatives are aimed at addressing environmental and social problems.

The second phase of the prize, the selection of 50 best nominees by means of online voting at, will take place on January 23-27. Fill in the form on the website to vote.
