On Minister for the Promotion of Women, Children and Family of the Republic of Mali
Women of more than 100 countries will take part in the Second Eurasian Women's Forum. They will share their expertise and experience in implementing various projects. Traore Oumou Toure, Minister for the Promotion of Women, Children and Family of the Republic of Mali, will be one of the Forum participants.
Traore Oumou Toure graduated from the Ecole Normale Superieure, Paris. As a woman and a teacher, she was always concerned with parenting, motherhood, and family values. In 1995, she founded the non-profit organization ‘Woiyo Kondeye’, which in Songhai means ‘space for reflection and mutual aid of women’. Ms Traore is committed to advancement of women. Her efforts were highly appreciated by the state and society, and in 1998 Ms Traore was elected Executive Secretary of the Coordination of Association and Women’s NGOs of Mali (CAFO). Then in 2008, she was elected president of the organization, which at that time included 2295 associations and other women’s non-governmental organizations from all over the country.
Today, Ms Toure is Minister for the Promotion of Women, Children and Family of the Republic of Mali. She turns focus toward happiness of the citizens of her country: the children have a quiet childhood, women feel supported, and families remain strong.
