VICTOR SUAREZ: “WOMEN CREATE BETTER SOCIETY”

The EWC journalists interviewed Victor Suarez, a parliamentarian from the Dominican Republic. Mr. Suarez told us about the role of women in developing his country.

Our interlocutor mentioned, women play a valuable role in economy and politics. He commented: “I must say, more and more women are acquiring senior positions in the different spheres of the Dominican Republic. Our vice-president alongside many parliamentarians are women. That is good, as women’s activity create better society and make our world a better place”.

Victor Suarez said 60% of the Dominican legal system members are women. Alongside with that, women also make 75% of Attorney General’s Office in the country.  The Parliament is now at 29%, however, the government strives to make it gender-balanced.

According to our interviewee, “We need to empower women and make society believe they can compete with men in different spheres including politics. We have to create such conditions, under which women will have the opportunity of balancing their career and household. I cannot even imagine how they manage to keep pace right now. Women are real magicians!”

Victor Suarez supposes women are amazing and beautiful. They charm with their tenderness, kind-heartedness, and constant desire to support people around them.
