WOMEN’S PROJECT FROM PERM GOES TO THE EWF
The first phase of the Open Innovations startup tour in Perm came to its end. The results have already been summed up. Ksenia Shvetsova was the entrepreneur who won in the nomination Best Women’s Technology Project. The project she had presented was the largest internet forum in the Perm region called kupivsp.ru.
Her company serves 24,000 users and 110 organisations of small and medium-sized business. The project was launched in 2010 as a women’s communication forum. However, with time it turned into a platform for electronic commerce.
Ksenia Shvetsova received an additional prize: the opportunity to present her project at the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum. The Forum takes place in Saint Petersburg in September 2018.
Yekaterina Inozemtseva, Strategy Director at Skolkovo Foundation, noted that Perm became the first city in the startup tour. The tour in Perm included discussions about the influence of economy digitalisation on women’s entrepreneurship.
“Not all members of the discussion understand the scale of the new opportunities. That is why I find it important to keep on holding such discussions and share about the positive aspects of economy digitalization at the startup tour’s platforms”, commented Yekaterina Inozemtseva.
The Open Innovations startup tour is organised by New Technologies Development and Commercialization Centre of Skolkovo Foundation in order to find promising innovative projects and to evolve competences of the beginning startup teams. The tour comprises a technology projects contest, educational programme and discussions. This year, the nomination Best Women’s Technology Project was introduced on the initiative of the Federation Council.
