Yesim Sevig to Participate in EAWF
Secretary General of the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey
One of the discussion sites of the 2nd Eurasian Women's Forum will be devoted to Female Entrepreneurs for the Broadening of Cooperation and Socioeconomic Interaction. Business women from around the world will exchange professional experience and share successful practices for project development. Yesim Sevig, Secretary General of the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey, will participate in the open discussion.
Ms Sevig has a degree in business administration. She also founded a promotional materials company. For 14 years, Yesim Sevig actively expanded her business, and in 2009 she decided to advance from being an entrepreneur to helping other women run their businesses. Yesim Sevig is the Secretary General of KAGIDER – Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey. Today she takes an active part in the work of the Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Communication and other committees of the organization.
The Secretary General of KAGIDER believes that in modern Turkey women and men have equal access to the labour market.
However, she admits that women still face certain career difficulties, mainly due to the lack of time for child care and upbringing. Nevertheless, the situation is improving. Since the Justice Party came into power in the country, the representation of women in the labour market has increased from 22 to 27%.
