Global Women for Global Growth

Summer Peace Summit will take place in June
Global Women for Global Growth

All the women of the world are concerned about the current situation on the planet. The pandemic was terrible in terms of not only the spread of a new dangerous virus but its consequences. It is already clear that the world will never be the same. It is necessary to discuss the problems exposed by the pandemic and suggest solutions to them. These issues will be in focus of the Second Summer Peace Summit taking place in online format on June 26, 2020.

The First Summer Peace Summit took place in Belgium in June 2019. The event brought together 50 women leaders from different countries and fields of activity. The meeting showed: thanks to positive energy, social activity, and sincere non-indifference natural to women’s hearts it is possible to carry out large-scale and globally important projects.

Today, humanity is experiencing stress and uncertainty. It is especially important to focus our energies not on destruction but on creation and preserving peace. One can solve many problems by forming horizontal relations and establishing communication not only from country to country but also from heart to heart.

“The Second Summer Peace Summit will bring together influential women from all over the world who want to contribute to solving relevant global problems. Are awaiting great impact, effective work, and constructive ideas from this meeting”, comments Marina Volynkina, Head of the Global Women Media news agency and co-founder of the Summer Peace Summit.

Today’s world is changing before our eyes, thus transforming the consciousness of every person. People have already become different: they started considering their lives from a new perspective and rethought their values. The coronavirus has exposed problems, which the humanity has been facing long before, but which have been brought to the surface by the pandemic. They include consumerist attitude to the world, unpreparedness for unforeseen problems, lies, distrust, and racism.

The traditional system of values, the basis of the habitual modern world, has been destroyed. Liberal freedoms were replaced by consumerism, warm-heartedness disappeared from communication, and integrity vanished from civil circulation. Fear and uncertainty at a global scale strengthened discrimination against people of colour, migrants, and people with certain illnesses: COVID-19, oncology, alopecia, or other illnesses making them different from the majority.

At the same time, the events of the past months demonstrated the importance of women in all spheres of society. Women worldwide have taken the initiative in their own hands, realizing most daring plans, spreading hope and optimism! During the period of self-isolation, many women leaders became the role models to society by putting many effort and attention into charitable activities. Women mothers inspired the whole world with their limitless energy by working and taking care of their families at the same time, creating the atmosphere of comfort and calmness even during this challenging period.

The virus has shown that people don’t have to oppose one another. They need to unite to solve the emerging problems.

The main thing today is to respond quickly, constructively, and creatively to all the new challenges before the humanity. This will be done by not so much the power structures but people with big and open hearts themselves. Marina Volynkina is convinced that women leaders from different countries should realize global changes, elaborate new senses and live principles in the transformed world. Then they should convey their point of view to governments and the public to start changing approaches.

The Summit participants will have an opportunity to discuss the following topics:

  • Loss of values, distrust, and fears: how to bring peace to people’s hearts?
  • Consequences of consumerism in our societies. How to prevent it for sustainable growth?
  • Deliberate disinformation and lies. Who can stop the misinformation storm?
  • Racism: women to stop fighting for race and color.
  • Importance of women in all parts of society.
  • Better world is interrelated. Constructive cooperation between women of the world.

Summer Peace Summit: Global Woman for Global Growth will take place on June 26, 2020, 11 am GMT (2 pm Moscow and Istanbul, 7 am New York, 7 pm Beijing).
